The John Penrose Virden House ( Lewes )
The Virden House is a 19th century Victorian Home located on the main street of Lewes, Delaware, within walking distance to many shops and fine restaurants. It is approximately a one half mile walk to the bay beach and a mile and a half drive to the Atlantic Ocean beaches. A private parking area is located at the rear of the property. The house is furnished with antiques throughout and has central heat and air conditioning. The beautifully decorated guest areas on the main floor consist of a large TV room with a working fireplace, large living/sitting room, dining room, and covered front porch furnished with wicker, the perfect spot to enjoy the breezes and the passers-by.
Each morning guests wake up to find freshly brewed coffee or tea delivered to their room. A complete breakfast is served either in the dinning room or on the front porch. To start, a fresh fruit course is accompanied with breakfast breads or muffins, followed by a hot entree. As an added convenience bicycles are available, along with beach towels, chairs and an umbrella.
